Information for Authors

Submission formats
All submissions must be original work not under review at any other workshop, conference, or journal. While the workshop will accept papers describing completed work as well as work-in-progress, the emphasis is on early discussion of novel and radical ideas (potentially of a controversial nature) rather than detailed description and evaluation of incremental advances. The workshop accepts full papers, short papers and demos. Submissions must follow the formatting guidelines of the main conference ACM MM 2018. Full papers should be 8 pages in length for long papers and 4 pages for short papers, in the same style format as ACM MM, and encoded as PDF. We are also inviting demo papers of 2-4 pages and show systems and prototypes in a demon session during the workshop. This complements the oral presentation sessions with a very interactive system.

Peer Review and publication in ACM Digital Library
All papers will be peer-reviewed by experts in the field. Reviews will be single blind: author names and affiliations can be included. Submissions should be in pdf anonymous. The program committee will review all the papers and each paper will receive at least two reviews. Acceptance will be based on relevance to the workshop, scientific novelty, and technical quality. The workshop papers will be published in the ACM Digital Library.

Best paper award
At the conclusion of the workshop, we will announce a best paper award. The best paper selection criteria will include both technical reviews and quality of oral presentation.
